Tyler Robinson, 22, was seen dressed up in the outfit in a 2017 post shared by his mother Amber, when he would have been around 14. The image shows him smiling at the camera while standing next to his younger brother.

Robinson was taken into custody on Thursday night in southern Utah after reportedly admitting involvement in the incident with Kirk, who passed away after sustaining a neck injury while speaking at a Utah Valley University event on Wednesday. Robinson was a student at Utah State University on a scholarship, insiders confirmed to Daily Mail. He was identified as the main suspect and remained missing for a day and a half. Utah Governor Spencer Cox announced his capture at a press conference Friday by stating: “Good morning, ladies and gentlemen — we got him.”

Robinson’s family members told police that he had become “more political in recent years,” Cox said. They described incidents where Robinson had come to dinner and “mentioned Charlie Kirk was coming to UVU and mentioned why he didn’t like him.”

Robinson arrived on the UVU campus driving a gray Dodge Challenger, before the tragic event involving the 31-year-old conservative influencer, police said. He was dressed in a plain maroon T-shirt, light-colored shorts, a black hat with a white logo and light-colored shoes. Cox said Robinson was wearing clothing “consistent” with this outfit when he was detained around 10pm local time Thursday.

FBI Director Kash Patel described the capture of the suspect as “historic” — congratulating the bureau for bringing the search to an end within 33 hours.

The family’s social media show Robinson, with his brothers, enjoying vacations and sharing selfies, including some celebrating his admission into college. He lives in a $600,000 six-bedroom home in Washington, Utah — about 260 miles south of the tragedy in Orem.
