“Back Where He Belongs”: Mark Ballas Shakes Up Dancing With the Stars With Surprise Season 34 COMEBACK After Fans Thought He Was Gone Forever

DWTS fans are gearing up for Season 34. The new season premieres in just a few weeks. So far, only four celebrities have been announced. Alix Earle, Robert Irwin, Whitney Leavitt, and Jennifer Affleck are the only confirmed contestants. The rest of the cast will be revealed on September 3 on Good Morning America.

But longtime viewers are more interested in knowing if their favorite pro dancer will compete this season or not. A good source revealed that a beloved DWTS pro is making a surprise comeback for Season 34. Keep reading for all the details.

Beloved Pro Makes Surprise Comeback For Season 34

When DWTS premiered in 2005, the huge draw was the famous celebrities. But after 33 seasons, the pro dancers are the reason viewers keep coming back. Many of the pros return for season after season. Former pro Derek Hough made the transition to judge after Len Goodman’s death.

Viewers would love to see several former pros return, but Mark Ballas is at the top of the list. He retired from the show in 2023 after twenty seasons with the show. He returned last season for a special performance with Derek.

According to DWTS reporter Kristyn Burtt, Mark Ballas is coming out of retirement and competing on Season 34. She posted a video announcing it on TikTok.

According to Kristyn Burtt’s sources, Val Chmerkovskiy and Brandon Armstrong are among the male pro dancers. Gleb Savchenko posted on social media that he wasn’t asked back.

Kristyn Burtt previously revealed the six female dancers for Season 34.

He Shuts Down Hater Claiming He’s Not Qualified

A lot of DWTS fans are beyond excited to see Mark Ballas back in the ballroom. But one hater argued on social media that Mark was inexperienced because he “sat out” rehearsals during an injury.

Mark Ballas took to the comments to set the hater straight. This isn’t the first time he’d put a social media user in their place. He clapped back at a fan who was upset that the DWTS alum is part of the Season 4 cast of Peacock’s Traitors reality show.

The DWTS alum reminded the troll that he was on the show for twenty seasons. He also added that all professional dancers have to sit out of rehearsal at some point. Mark responded to the speculation that he’s returning to the ABC reality competition. “PS: nothing has been confirmed either. Ya’ll need to chill,” he wrote.

Will DWTS Feature A Male-Male Dance Pair?

Mark Ballas isn’t officially part of the Season 34 cast, but Kristyn Burtt has a great track record with sharing correct information.

Assuming the rumors are true, what fans want to know now is if DWTS will finally have an all-male pairing. The show made history in Season 30 with its first all-female pairing when pro Jenna Johnson paired with pop singer JoJo Siwa.

Mark Ballas and Derek Hough performed a stunning tango together on the Season 33 finale. Do you want to see a male-male pairing on Season 34?
